Research and Instruction Services

Auburn University Libraries provide an effective gateway to recorded knowledge in print, digital and other formats available locally and at remote sites. By building upon our strong service tradition, Research and Instruction Services of the Auburn University Libraries will be recognized worldwide for its commitment to service excellence to its users. We have in place and will continue to build on proactive and innovative library programs and services that enable our library faculty and staff to actively participate in and contribute to the teaching, research, service and outreach missions and programs of the University. We strive to link our users transparently to the widest possible selection of global information sources while acquiring and preserving print and electronic reference information resources of distinction that address the instructional, research, and service needs of Auburn University. We are at the forefront of the use of existing and emerging digital reference technologies. We actively promote the nature and scope of available information resources and services to our users. We have in place a dynamic library user instruction program that encourages the development of research skills and information literacy to enable our users to function independently in our information rich and technology driven environment. We aim to meet all users' information needs, and are resolved to exceed all their expectations for personal and discipline-specific service in each reference encounter.
