At the start of the 2023 fall semester, the Technology Lending space held an open house to showcase the various technology and equipment available for check-out. The space is part of the Innovation and Research Commons (I&RC) located in RBD Library. During the open house attendees were able to learn about and handle a variety of cameras, microphones, mobile phone video accessories, drawing tablets, tripods and more. All Auburn University faculty, staff, and students are eligible to check-out the equipment for up to two weeks and are encouraged to use the equipment for not only work/class assignments, but also for personal projects. “The projectors and portable screen are very popular items,” said Eileen Hall, manager of the Technology Lending space, “and circulation of the technology collection has steadily increased each semester since the service was put in place three years ago.” She went on to say that this service is especially important to student success by giving them access to technology regardless of their chosen major or personal financial situation.
