Association of Departments of English
A division of the Modern Language Association, this organization lists member information as well as reports and ADE guidelines for member programs and teacher workloads.
An international non-profit organization that promotes study of the life and work of Jack London, was founded in 1990 as an author society affiliated with the American Literature Association, a coalition of author societies. It numbers over 300 members and continues to grow each year. Membership is open to anyone interested in London.
Founded in 1883, the Modern Language Association of America provides opportunities for its members to share their scholarly findings and teaching experiences with colleagues and to discuss trends in the academy.
The purpose of The New Chaucer Society is to provide a forum for teachers and scholars of Geoffrey Chaucer and his age. To advance such study, the Society organizes biennial international congresses of Chaucerians, publishes the annual Studies in the Age of Chaucer and a semiannual newsletter, and supports such important projects as the Variorum Chaucer, the Annotated Chaucer Bibliography (an electronic version of which is available on-line), and the Middle English Dictionary Project. Participation in NCS congresses is restricted to active members of the Society.
